Tutorial: Non-Toxic DIY Slime

You guys. I have a confession. I caved in to the DIY slime craze! I know, I know. Slime is soooo mainstream, but it’s all the rage for a reason. It’s fun to not only play with but to make also. So after you finish judging me to adding yet another slime tutorial to the internet, read on below the break to see how you can make your own slime using products your actually truly have lying around the house (because who just keeps borax on hand anyway??) and that you won’t worry too much about your chubby toddler tasting.   This slime recipe contains 3 ingredients: liquid glue, baking soda and contact solution. Unless you don’t like to have...

Treat Yo'Self: DIY Spa Kit

If you're anything like me, you too have spent too much time at LUSH, to the point where the all-clad-in-black salespeople already know you're only there for the samples (and maybe a lip scrub since its the only thing under $10 you wont feel bad about using up). Well I'm here to help stop the persecution of LUSH-addicted cheapies everywhere. I have scoured the internet, researched countless natural remedies and, yes, even fell down an essential oils rabbit hole. And now I have emerged like jasmine-scented, fully exfoliated and over moisturized Jack Skellington to tell you that this year, overpriced irresistible handmade cosmetics shall be ours! And, bonus, I also did not test on any animals, unless you count me...

January: Year in Review and Resolutions

So basically I am a terrible blogger and never update. Luckily, we just started a new year so we have the chance to turn a new leaf! New year, new you, new blogs, all that jazz, right? In my defense, we have had a crazy busy year and are super excited to reminisce about it: Let's see, first we kicked off the year with a feature in San Antonio Magazine, which we still aren't sure how we pulled that off! Then we joined our good friends over at Make San Antonio for a joint Valentine's Day event at Freetail Brewing.  In March, we moved into our temporary shared home at The Workery. I made myself at home (maybe too much,...

DIY Grandparents Day Gifts

Being semi-new to this whole parenting gig, I didn't even realize Grandparents Day was a thing until maybe a year ago! But alas, it is Sunday, September 11, 2016, which means it is quickly approaching. Now, anyone who knows me knows I credit my grandma Lillie as the original maker. I remember spending days with her as she made dresses for my cabbage patch dolls and Barbies and hand embroidered pillows and blankets that I have now passed down to my boys. She would keep a secret stash of popsicles in the freezer for us and I sit on her counter with my treat watching her cook the most delicious Mexican food. She was loud and nosy and full of...

September: Shut The Front Door!

Like you, we have been super busy and we are glad to get our schedule back to normal! Since we last blogged, we moved out of our old home at The Workery (thanks for the memories!) and into our new home at Om Base on South St. Mary's Street. While the actual move in to our new second story home in the south Texas heat was not a pretty sight, our new set up is gorgeous and we could not be happier. Then, in case you missed it, we were invited to contribute regular segments on both Great Day SA and SA Live! Word on the street is they heard about my experience on television singing in the 2nd grade choir...
